Why Does Water Consumption Matter?
It starts with you.
Most tap water in the U.S. comes from freshwater sources on the surface or in aquifers as groundwater. When water levels from drop, it puts both human and environmental health at risk. When water levels in natural sources such as lakes, streams, rivers, and groundwater decrease, they create various environmental risks, often leading to higher pollutant concentrations.

However, if less water is consumed domestically, more water remains in these natural sources, leading to a greater supply of freshwater across the globe.
